An optical table is a vibration control platform that is used to support systems used for laser- and optics-related experiments, engineering and manufacturing. The surfaces of these tables are designed to be very rigid with minimum deflection so that the alignment of optical elements remains stable over time.[1] Many optical systems require that vibration of optical elements be kept small. As a result, optical tables are typically very heavy and incorporate vibration isolation and damping features in their structure. Many use pneumatic isolators that act as mechanical low-pass filters, reducing the ability of vibrations in the floor to cause vibrations in the table top. Allywing team explored the technology behind the Optical Table in consultation with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT BHU. It was found that available technologies used in Optical table are all imported or involve imported spare parts. Thus looking into this our team at Allywing came out with a solution to develop an indigenous Optical Table. This product we propose to develop will have maximum Structural Damping, Adherence, Flatness & Build quality. The top skin will be made of ferromagnetic stainless steel & the bottom skin is made of epoxy coated mild steel. The side walls will be designed in compressed wooden particleboards to dampen acoustic vibrations. Our product will be suitable for Photonics, Imaging, and Microscopy Application. It will also provide durability & vibration isolation performance.
